Full Itinerary
Day 1:Kigali To Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your safari adventure begins at 7:00 AM with a pick-up from Kigali. You’ll drive through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda, arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park by early afternoon. En route, you'll pass through the Kasenyi plains, known for spotting various wildlife species. These plains are part of the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift and provide a great opportunity to see animals like lions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, topis, and bushbucks. Although spotting the ‘big five’ is not guaranteed, a lucky day may offer a sighting of leopards to make it the ‘big four.’
After lunch, enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you can observe crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a variety of bird species on the channel waters. This is a perfect way to wrap up the day with scenic views and wildlife encounters.

Day 3:Gorilla Trekking • Mgahinga National Park • Kigali
Today, we embark on a life-changing adventure: gorilla trekking. The trek typically involves 2 to 4 hours of walking through dense brush and rugged terrain, at altitudes ranging from 7,000 to 9,000 feet. The journey may include exposure to stinging nettles and other challenging elements. It is important to note that visitors showing signs of illness may be denied access by park authorities to prevent harm to the gorillas.
At 7:30 AM, you will be transferred to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides. After completing the park formalities, you’ll embark on your gorilla trekking adventure. Tracking the mountain gorillas in the Virunga mountains is a magical experience. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing these gentle giants, getting as close as meters away. These incredible primates are extremely rare, with fewer than 1,000 left in the world, making this an unforgettable moment.
The trekking can be strenuous, so it's essential to have good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against nettles, snacks, and water. Once the trek concludes, return to the lodge, freshen up, enjoy lunch, and say goodbye to your hosts. Afterward, you will be transferred back to Kigali, arriving late in the evening and dropped off at your hotel or residence.
