Depart from Kigali between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM for the drive to Akagera National Park. Arrive at the park in time for an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Explore the park’s scenic northern and central sectors in search of a wide variety of wildlife, including: Lions Elephants Buffaloes Giraffes Zebras Impalas Topis Waterbucks Warthogs Hippos Crocodiles Akagera is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with hundreds of recorded bird species inhabiting its wetlands and savannah ecosystems.
Enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Continue your safari through different habitats of the park, maximizing opportunities to spot additional wildlife and enjoy spectacular scenery. Later return to Kigali.
